In-home and family support services assist individuals with developmental disabilities (mental retardation), autism, pervasive developmental disorders and developmental delays (birth to age four) by providing help with the purchasing of essential services and items. These include basic clothing, food, shelter, general medical care and education. In-home and family support services are intended to support individuals who want to live in their natural environment. Services and items funded vary based on individual needs and alternative resources available. In-home and family support is a funding source of last resort used when all other funding resources (such as Medicaid, private insurance, community resources and programs) have been exhausted.

Who is Eligible?

In-Home and Family Support Services are available for children and adults in Travis County with developmental disabilities (mental retardation), autism, pervasive developmental disorder, and developmental delay (birth to age four) or their families.
